that kunle could eat three times a day,
buy clothes for himself once in a while as
he could now save money in a box which
he hid somewhere in the room-where his
uncle could never see it.
.
There was a new cateen that iya kola
started along the bush path that led to
the building site where kunle worked as a
labourer.
Kunle always patronized her because her
food was cheaper and more palatable
than that of the other woman that
usually come to them on the site.
After a few years he got to know one of
the young assistants working for her, and
little by little, they got familiar.
This young girl was named
adeola.
Kola would hang out with her whenever
he’s less busy…
At a stage
Adeola could comfortably tell iya kola
and others that kunle also known as
baba labour was dating her.
Kunle would wait till adeola rounded off
work for the day.
Then, he would stroll along with adeola
to her parent’s house inside the village.
They would discuss together for a long
time and get into several other issues.
It was barely two years into this
friendship that
Adeola got pregnant.
